Showreel:

Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2009

I recently returned from a very successful trip north of the border, performing with the Ministry of Burlesque at the fabulous Voodoo Rooms in central Edinburgh.

Desmorphia (2009)

It was great teaming up with the cabaret legend Desmond O’Connor for ‘Desmorphia’, a crazy ride through the mind of Des and his brilliant comedy songwriting, a show we got 4 and 5 star reviews for and one which we really enjoyed over the 3 week run. It was especially a pleasure working with Sarah-Louise Young, the other star of the show, as we played around with our surreal and ethereal characters, buzzing around the mind of Des on and off the stage.

The greatest pleasure however was working with all the great people who teamed up to form ‘High Tease’. A show that is truely establishing itself as the country’s seminal variety and adult entertainment show. A co-production of the Ministry of Burlesque and Blond Ambition Productions, it was also a fantastic community performing experience, performing every night with, in addition to the Desmorphia cast, ‘The Kitsch Kats’, ‘Spencer Maybe’, ‘Gypsy Charms’, ‘Viva Misadventure’, ‘Impressive Johnson’, ‘Missy Malone’, ‘Honey Wilde’, ‘Pippa the Rippa’ and ‘Mr. B the Gentleman Rhymer’ as we brought the house down to 5 star reviews and sell out audiences! We also had some fabulous guest acts including Amanda Palmer from the Dresden Dolls and the fantastic music duo of ‘Frisky and Mannish’.

As for Edinburgh itself? A beautiful city where I indulged in ghost tours, great walks and lots of late night drinking. not sure about the weather though :P (see below, got soaked at an outdoor food festival!).
